This week's prompt from Sally over at the Studio Sublime is "centerpiece". What is the "centerpiece", the central, most important feature of your day, week, life! It makes you comfortable gives you joy, brings you piece of mind or is simply a place of comfort.
The answer to that would be for me is family.
As we gear up to host Thanksgiving with at our house tomorrow with my husband's family I've done alot of cleaning and prepping. One of the things I needed to do was fill up an empty space on the wall. I found the idea of a heart photo collage on line. So here is my new "centerpiece". It to me is all the things described above.
Check out the centerpiece's of others lives below!
Now, I'm back to scraping something together for this week's prompt, "Reflect".
Sally says, "the start of the holiday season is coming up quickly wether we are ready or not, so before jumping into it all the hustle and bustle let's take a moment to slow done and reflect on all the joy...peace, happiness and love we already have in our lives."
I've been doing alot of self reflecting today, trying to lighten my load, simply my life, let things go that I can no longer control and trying to be happy with who I am and who I'm becoming.
This week's prompt obviously has to do with Halloween and all the things that go along with it this time of year. But I'm going to go another route, 1) because we don't partake in the festivities and 2) because my son's birthday is on the 30th. So the last week of October is usually revolved around that and this year was very busy! Trust me your only child turning 15 and wanting to prep for a learner's permit is scary enough!
This year Alex's birthday fell on a Wednesday and we have church on Wednesday night's so we went out to dinner Tuesday night at his favorite place, Outback!
Then down to the basement to see the gift his Nanny got him, an air hockey table, oh it's on!
Then we made it to church on Wednesday but brought a treat to celebrate with! Cupcakes from none other than Georgetown Cupcake, yuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmy! The one above is Cookies N' Cream!
Then I got sentimental and had to do a little photo montage, oh how I miss those days!
Then on Thursday, Alex volunteered at his school for Family Fun Night. He was in charge of a table that we collecting money to create and send care packages to soldiers overseas.
And then I ate another cupcake.
Tomorrow we end the festivities and go to Run or Dye down in D.C. can't wait. I might actually do a second post this week about it!
